Ode to the ugly Sneck

Not in the classic sense because an ode is a poem that is usually dignified and serious as a form, however this is neither serious, dignified, or in the form of poetry.

You're a keel joker. Enough with the barbs. How 'bout a limerick? OK, I guess you get the point.... No one's perfect.

I recently heard some taped sound track from the Orvis tying room recorded in 1890. Mary had the following to say and I quote:
"I think I’ll use a sneck… how ugly.... oh what the heck…... guess I’ll use a limerick… hand me the bic"
Now that is Orvis history.... Guess I am bored and need some more

I'm enjoying all the sharp comments, but what's the point? Your minds are in the gutters and I'm losing my temper. These replies need to be tapered off and get the sneck on with the tying challenge (for those of you who have the shanks to do so).

What the heck, is that a sneck? what a wreck, it get's no respect. Nice fly, a real good try, but that hook, Why? It hurts my eyes, I gotta sigh, my oh my.

I love the fly, but the hook makes me wanna puke. Whoever invented such a shape, anyway?

I've haddock with this thread, I thought for a while I'd hang around just for the halibut but I just cannot understand what the sneck you guys are talking about. Hopefully tomorrow you'll be singing a different tuna.
