Sale Day is Here

The day has finally arrived when the hook collection of Ron Reinhold is offered one by one for sale. Ron has numbered and indexed the hooks on the two posters which he produced that show the bulk of the collection. Each hook is priced in the list. Some of, but not all of the most significant hooks have been sold and are marked as such. There are a great number of less expensive hooks in the $5 to $7 dollar range that most of us can afford AND have a documented hook from the collection. This is literally a once in a lifetime chance to own a piece of angling history. What fun it would be to have the posters framed with some of the actual hooks. A word on the price of the hooks. Ron has priced them very low given what they are, even the most expensive ones.

These hooks will not last long. Ron is a man of limited patience so when he says they will be gone soon, you can take that to the bank. The hooks should be all but gone in a week or two. That will close the door on yet another of what I think is a significant part of angling history. The posters and hooks will be sought long after we are gone. Ron & I mused that it might even be possible that one day, some aggressive collector will seek out and collect the hooks once again reuniting the collection. Could happen.

Look at the price list and it explains the numbering on the posters.

Antique Blind Eye Hook Poster showing many of the hooks and original packaging from the Ron Reinhold collection ca 1750 to WWII.

This is the first of two posters that are part of the world class vintage hook collection that Ron Reinhold collected over the years while he made his own blind eye hooks. The collection is valued at many thousands of dollars so this is an opportunity for us common folk to own a small piece of it and at the same time be able to use it to identify vintage mystery hooks many of us have. It is a big poster on good paper stock and will entertain you for hours as you look at the details of the hooks and packages. The images are razor sharp so even the smallest details will be easy to see. Posters will be signed, numbered and personalized should you like. The press run is limited to only 400 posters. When they are gone, that's it. Ron has no intention to reprint this poster.

The second poster will have hooks without packaging and hook plates from many of the old books. This poster will also be invaluable and will save you thousands of dollars since you won't have to buy all those dusty old books.

The combined value of these posters is priceless in that you will have one place to see the most historically significant hooks by the finest hook makers of the past. I personally believe these posters will be valued for many years for hook collectors and just because they are beautiful and unduplicated anywhere. Get your little slice of history now!

Poster is $56.00 plus $8.00 s&h in the states. Offshore s&h should be taken up with Ron Reinhold.
